New for Kids!
The Volunteers of the Vogue have started a new program for kids at the 25-cent Family Matinee on Saturdays at 10:00 am.
In an effort to help the Vogue’s youngest patrons take ownership and pride in Manistee’s community cinema, the volunteers have decided to offer a new way to help families enjoy the 25-cent matinee together. Each child will be given the opportunity to enter into a drawing to win a free admission and refreshments for the following Saturday’s matinee.
Building a routine of enjoying films together as a family is a great way to connect between generations, and the Vogue tries to choose from a wide variety of films that can be enjoyed by all ages. Over the course of a month the Vogue strives for a wide variety of genres and content so that there is something for each member of the family, with a special emphasis on films that are entertaining for both adults and children. A family of five can enjoy a movie on the big screen with “all the fixings from the refreshment stand” for $11.25 at this show.
Stemming from the camaraderie that has been built between the volunteers who work together each Saturday serving popcorn and juice-boxes to the Vogue’s littlest patrons, volunteers are eagerly looking forward to giving away this prize each week. The weekly prize represents the theatre’s mission to provide affordable quality entertainment, and further distinguish itself as a volunteer-powered cinema. This sort of program is exactly what makes the Vogue unique. The Saturday morning volunteer shifts are the first to be snatched up, mostly because the volunteers enjoy seeing the faces of the kids each week.
“We are pleased to announce that our newest program is available as a gift to our community and hope that families will take advantage of our volunteers generosity,” says Sara Herberger, Volunteer Coordinator, “For every child’s ticket purchased for the 25-cent family matinee, that child will get a chance to win a free admission, pop and popcorn for the following Saturday’s movie, presented by our Vogue Volunteers, in exchange for a smile.”
