The Historic Vogue Theatre of Manistee (HVTM) is a 501c3 non-profit organization tasked with the revitalization of the Vogue Theatre property which occurred in 2013 & 2014 and the oversight of its operation and management after opening in December 2013. The HVTM’s leadership consists of an all-volunteer Board of Directors:

Jim Snoeyink – President, Whitehall, MI

Jim grew up in the Grand Rapids area and received an engineering degree from Michigan Tech University. After 35 years in the electric utility industry in NW Indiana, Jim retired in 2013 from his Plant Manager position and moved to Manistee where he and his wife have had a cottage since 2003. Jim has enjoyed being involved with the Vogue since early 2014 as a volunteer, then as a staff member starting in 2015. He served as Theatre Manager from 2018 – 2020 and is now enjoying his second phase of retirement!

Julia Cook – Vice President, Manistee, MI

Ms. Cook is a full-time resident of Manistee for over 21 years.  She is married to Frank Cook and is a mother of five, as well as a grandmother of six, all with strong ties to the community.  Ms. Cook served as a Vice President and Mortgage Government Underwriter for over 20 years prior to her retirement.  She also studied business, marketing, and interior design and graduated from the prestigious Rapport International Leadership program.  One of her many claims to fame is being the first woman car salesperson in West Michigan (Grand Rapids).  As the Community Relations Director for the Vogue Theatre, Ms. Cook has been involved with the theatre since the doors reopened in December of 2013.  She is the founder and administrator of Manistee Ambassadors for over nine years, sits on the Downtown Merchants Council and many other local events committees, and is currently serving as Chairman of the Victorian Sleighbell Weekend.

Frank Greco – Secretary, Manistee, MI

Frank Greco is a retired lawyer and formerly served as the Chief Commissioner for the Michigan Supreme Court. Greco provides legal input and advice on all matters involving the HVTM and its processes.

Mary Russell – Treasurer, Manistee, MI

Ms. Russell spent her 30-year business career in banking in the Flint and Detroit areas retiring in 2005.  Ms. Russell moved to Manistee full time in 2004 and became an active community member, holding positions with the Manistee Historic District Commission, Manistee Art Institute, Chamber of Commerce and Shoreline Showcase.  Ms. Russell was involved in the Vogue project from the beginning as a Volunteer Coordinator for the length of the restoration project and beyond.

Eric Gustad – Manistee, MI

Eric is a Manistee native who was, for 11 years, the training and performance manager of the Little River Casino.  Since 2013, he has been the Public Affairs Area Manager for Consumers Power Co.  In that capacity his responsibilities include building and maintaining relationships with local governmental officials, business leaders, charities, and community leaders. His also charged with engaging in volunteer activities and community projects and serving in leadership roles within the community.  Eric served on the Manistee City Council from 2012 through 2016 and is currently a member of the Manistee County Board of Commissioners.

Jacob Gustad – Manistee, MI

Jacob is an accountant with Richards and McDougall, PC, in Manistee.  A Manistee native, he is involved with a number of local community groups.

Dave Mix – Manistee, MI

Mix has served on the boards of numerous nonprofit organizations in the areas of the arts, education and community-support in both Manistee and Grand Rapids, as well as with state-wide arts advocacy organizations.  His current Board participation, including the historic Vogue Theatre, is as board member and President of the historic Ramsdell Regional Center of the Arts in Manistee. He also serves on the organizing committee for Manistee’s annual ‘Old Victorian Weekend / Sleighbell Parade’ event, attracting over 15,000 attendees each December.

Lindsey Swidorski – Manistee, MI

Born and raised in Manistee and a graduate of Grand Valley State University, Lindsey’s family has been an important part of Manistee’s business community for decades.  She is the owner of the Ramsdell Inn and TJ’s Pub, just down the block from the Vogue.

Eric Thuemmel – Manistee, MI

Mr. Thuemmel is a math teacher and track coach at Manistee High School. He is a frequent participant on stage with the Manistee Civic Players and a member of the leadership board and choir at Manistee United Methodist Church. Mr. Thuemmel is also race director of the Manistee Firecracker 5K Run. He and his family live in Manistee and all enjoy movie-going.

Meg Voelker – Manistee, MI

Voelker moved to Manistee in 1958 from Naples, Italy, has nursing degrees from Michigan State University and University of Michigan and worked as staff nurse anesthetist and Chief Nurse Anesthetist at the Veteran’s Administration Medical Center in Ann Arbor for 22 years. A community activist, Meg has served as the co-coordinator of Vogue volunteers since 2011.

Jane Waldron – Manistee, MI

Jane is a retired environmental engineer who has loved spending time in the Manistee area for over 40 years.  Her 32 year career at Dow Corning included roles in regulatory compliance, operations management, risk assessment and manufacturing sustainability.  She has been a full-time resident of Manistee and active Vogue volunteer for over 6 years.
